Nod is a Slack app for peer recognition, operated by Oliver Morrison in the United Kingdom. This page says exactly what we store and why.
What we store
- Workspace: Slack team ID, name, and an encrypted bot token so we can post DMs and read the channels you invite us to.
- Members: Slack user IDs, display names and avatars, cached so dashboards and digests show names. No email addresses.
- Recognitions: who gave, who received, the praise text, the channel, and the time. This is the product.
- Settings and billing: your emoji, names, allowance, timezone, digest preferences, and Stripe customer and subscription IDs. Card details never touch our servers.
- Usage analytics: counts of installs, configurations and recognitions. Never praise text.
- Technical logs: Slack event IDs and error codes, kept 30 days for debugging. Raw message payloads are not retained.
What we read from Slack, and why

What we do not do
- We do not sell or share data with anyone except the processors below.
- We do not read private channels or DMs the app has not been invited to.
- We do not train models on your messages.
Processors
Supabase (database, London region), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments), Sentry (error monitoring, with message bodies stripped). Slack itself, obviously.
Deleting your data
A workspace admin can delete everything from the settings page at any time. Uninstalling the app from Slack revokes our access immediately and we delete the workspace's data within 30 days. You can also email hello@nod.example.
